Coaching

Coaches and Officials

People may be interested in improving their knowledge and skills and this can be for personal performance improvement (at any age), or to qualify as an official or coach to help others. The main courses are shown on this page and Coaching Courses for Coaches.

The new BE No strings  Essentials course is an online learning course which can be completed by any level 2 coach. It takes roughly an hour to complete and all they need to do is email coaching@badmintonengland.co.uk to request login details. Once they have completed this we send them out the coach delivery notes in the post. It’s a very good course and really helps to standardise the beginners course as well as help to promote it. For the next 12 months BADMINTON England is giving a free racket to everyone who attends an essentials course (the 8 week course that the coach delivers not the online course the coach undertakes). All a centre needs to do is set up a course and then email BE the number of participates booked onto the course before the first day.

HSP may provide a 50% subsidy to Level 1s wanting to take a Level 2 course in April 2014 to those supporting people with disabilities: contact HSP Coaching Manager, Rob Hardwick.

BADMINTON England’s Education and Training team are delighted to announce a brand new partnership with North Hertfordshire College.

Herts County Council’s advice to schools is clear: “we recommend that schools employ those coaches who meet minimum standards and are registered with CoachMark.”  There are advantages to badminton coaches to register with this scheme.

Coaches or helpers of those under 18 years, or vulnerable adults,  require a Criminal Records Bureau check, now called DBS.  See the
BE webpage for current information.
