Coaches and Officials

People may be interested in improving their knowledge and skills and this can be for personal performance improvement (at any age), or to qualify as an official or coach to help others. The BE Coach Pathway is shown here  - and main courses are shown on this page and Coaching Courses for Coaches

The new BE No strings  Essentials course is an online learning course which can be completed by any level 2 coach. It takes roughly an hour to complete and all they need to do is email to request login details. Once they have completed this we send them out the coach delivery notes in the post. It’s a very good course and really helps to standardise the beginners course as well as help to promote it. For the next 12 months BADMINTON England is giving a free racket to everyone who attends an essentials course (the 8 week course that the coach delivers not the online course the coach undertakes). All a centre needs to do is set up a course and then email BE the number of participates booked onto the course before the first day.

coaches who may be contacted directly for help, hints and tips or formal coaching, can be found by scrolling to the bottom of this page.

Wimbledon Summer Team Tournament 21st & 22nd July 2018

One of the best team tournaments in the badminton calendar is back in 2018 at the Wimbledon Racquets & Fitness Club.

The Wimbledon Summer Team tournament has been going for over 10 years and in that time has gone from strength to strength. It's a fabulous competitive and fun

Team event but also a fantastic social event on the Saturday night with disco, BBQ and fancy dress.

Anyone who has played Gold or Silver Senior events, or has represented their county at Senior Level or is a Division 1, 2 club player would be eligible and enjoy this event.

Each team consists of three men and three women ranked one to three. Each team will play a minimum of five hybrid matches over the two days. A hybrid match consists of 9 rubbers ( 1 game to 21), 3 men's doubles, 3 women's doubles and 3 mixed.

Entry fee of £44 per player (£264 per team) is great value as it includes all the weekends badminton, party pass to disco and BBQ (which is great food) and a free Tournament Shirt. Cash prizes are available for at least first and second placed teams plus other prizes available.

If you are interested or want to find out more, please find attached link to the entry form

or please contact the tournament organiser Tracy Dineen Places are limited and this is a popular event so don't delay!!
